# Ethereum Daily — October 7, 2026

This edition covers roughly the last 24–48 hours (October 6–7) and is diffed against [yesterday's post](https://julienberanger.com/eth-daily-2026-10-06).

**Roadmap.** The Glamsterdam upgrade cleared its first real hurdle: at 13:53:36 UTC on October 6 (epoch 353,024), Sepolia activated the combined Amsterdam/Gloas fork with no reported issues — yesterday's post had it still pending. The headline feature, enshrined proposer-builder separation (ePBS) built directly into the protocol rather than bolted on as add-on software, is now live for testing, alongside block-level access lists and an opt-in bump to a 200 million gas limit (more than triple Sepolia's prior ~60 million); client teams, including Prysm with its v7.2.1 release, are watching validator and node behavior under the heavier load. Mainnet timing and final gas parameters remain undecided, and Hoodi testnet dates are still unset. EIP-7906 (native transaction assertions) is unchanged since yesterday, still in early draft.

**Governance.** No material new development since yesterday; EIP-8363's staking-reward-burn dispute remains parked for a separate process ahead of Devcon in November. Vitalik Buterin did speak at the OKX NOW event, framing AI as both an opportunity and a risk for protocol security and predicting mature zero-knowledge privacy tooling within two years — commentary rather than a governance action.

**Institutional and corporate adoption.** New here: as of October 4, BitMine's ETH treasury grew to 6,016,414 ETH, about 4.9% of total supply, after adding 15,112 ETH over the preceding week, with roughly 84% of its stack staked and total crypto, cash and securities holdings near $17.4 billion. No other new treasury, ETF-product, or tokenization announcements turned up in today's sourcing.

**Stats.** ETH is trading around $2,690–$2,715, essentially flat versus yesterday and still capped below the $2,780–$2,800 resistance band. The ETF outflow streak that started September 29 extended to a sixth straight session: Tuesday, October 6 logged $201.9 million in net redemptions, all of it from BlackRock's ETHA, the largest single-day outflow of the run and a sharp step up from Monday's milder print. Bitcoin ETFs took in inflows over the same stretch, consistent with some rotation out of ETH exposure rather than an outright crypto pullback. On-chain fundamentals — DeFi TVL near $54 billion, staking participation above 35% of supply, staked ETH value north of $119 billion — show no new prints since yesterday.
