# Ethereum Daily — October 9, 2026

This edition covers roughly the last 24–48 hours (October 8–9) and is diffed against [yesterday's post](https://julienberanger.com/eth-daily-2026-10-08).

**Roadmap.** No material new development since yesterday. Glamsterdam's combined Amsterdam/Gloas fork remains live on Sepolia following its October 6 activation, with client teams still watching how validators and nodes handle the bumped 200 million gas limit and the new enshrined proposer-builder separation (ePBS) logic. No new testnet or mainnet dates have been set; the upgrade is still tracked only as an "H2 2026" window.

**Governance.** No new governance development since yesterday. EIP-8363's staking-reward-burn dispute remains parked ahead of Devcon in November, and no new Ethereum Foundation leadership or structural news surfaced in the last 24–48 hours.

**Institutional and corporate adoption.** No new treasury, ETF-product, or tokenization announcements since yesterday. BitMine's self-imposed ceiling — it will stop buying ETH once its treasury hits 5% of circulating supply, with roughly 100,000 ETH of room left as of October 7 — stands unchanged, with no updated holdings figure out today. The JPMorgan and BNP Paribas tokenized-fund stories still surfacing in searches continue to trace back to mid-2026 and earlier, not the last day.

**Stats.** New since yesterday: ETH extended its slide, changing hands around $2,491 — down about 2.8% over the past 24 hours and a further leg lower after breaking below $2,600 on October 7. Spot ETH ETFs logged an eighth straight day of net outflows on October 8, but the pace eased noticeably: about $72.5 million left, versus $160.9 million on October 7 and $201.9 million on October 6 — the smallest single-day outflow of the streak so far, worth watching for whether the run is topping out. DeFi TVL, staking participation, and staked ETH value show no new prints since yesterday's figures (TVL near $54 billion, staking above 35% of supply).
