Ethereum Daily — October 15, 2026

This edition covers roughly the last 48 hours (October 13–15) and is diffed against the October 13 post.

Roadmap. New since the last post: Ethereum's core developers held All Core Devs Consensus Call #189 today, reviewing timing for the two upcoming forks. Glamsterdam — already running on the Sepolia testnet since its October 6 activation at a 200 million gas limit — stays on track for a Q4 2026 mainnet target, with the next public testnet, Hoodi, due to go live later this month as the next checkpoint before a mainnet date is set. The call also previewed Hegotá, the fork after Glamsterdam, now pointing to Q2 2027. No final mainnet gas limit or activation date has been locked in yet.

Governance. No new governance development since the last post. The EIP-8363 staking-reward-burn debate remains parked for the dedicated issuance-policy forum planned at Devcon in November, and no new Ethereum Foundation leadership or structural news has surfaced.

Institutional and corporate adoption. No material new development in the last 24–48 hours. No treasury firm announced a fresh purchase, and no new institutional entrant or tokenization deal broke; BitMine and SharpLink's holdings are unchanged from the figures already covered.

Stats. The big mover since the last post is price and ETF flows, not fundamentals. Spot ETH ETFs broke their 10-day outflow streak on October 13 with a $24.84 million net inflow, per SoSoValue — but it was a one-day blip: flows flipped straight back to a $130 million net outflow on October 14, led by BlackRock's ETHA (−$110 million) and Grayscale's Ethereum Mini Trust (−$18.76 million). Underneath that, ETH itself sold off hard: after hovering near $2,450–2,500 earlier in the week, it was trading around $2,350–2,420 in the early hours of October 15 (reports vary: CoinDesk had it down more than 6% in 24 hours, KuCoin's market snapshot had it at $2,421.64, down 3.04% as of 00:00 UTC), as roughly $483 million in BTC/ETH futures were liquidated market-wide in 24 hours — about $286 million of that in ETH alone, nearly 60% of the total — amid broader uncertainty over the Fed's next rate decision. No fresher print has landed on the validator exit queue (still last reported around 767,000 ETH) or on DeFi TVL/L2 gas-fee figures since the last post.
