Ethereum Daily — October 16, 2026

This edition covers roughly the last 24 hours and is diffed against yesterday's post.

Roadmap. No major protocol news since yesterday's All Core Devs Consensus Call #189. Glamsterdam prep continues on its existing track toward a Q4 2026 mainnet target, with the Hoodi testnet checkpoint still the thing to watch for later this month; no new call, client release, or EIP update has landed in the last 24 hours.

Governance. Nothing new since yesterday. The EIP-8363 staking-reward-burn debate remains parked for the Devcon issuance-policy forum in November, and no fresh Ethereum Foundation leadership or structural news has surfaced.

Institutional and corporate adoption. No material new development in the last 24 hours — no treasury firm announced a fresh purchase and no new institutional entrant or tokenization deal broke. Holdings at BitMine and SharpLink are unchanged from what's already been covered.

Stats. The outflow bleed softened but didn't stop. Spot ETH ETFs posted a $60.22 million net outflow on October 15 per SoSoValue — smaller than the $130 million outflow on October 14 — with BlackRock's ETHA again leading at $44.39 million out and Fidelity's FETH the lone bright spot at $2.44 million in. Price stayed in the same beaten-down range it fell into the day before: after sliding roughly 6.5% to around $2,353 on October 15 amid hot inflation data, weak tech stocks, and leveraged liquidations, ETH was changing hands around $2,420–$2,450 through the day on October 16 (TradingKey had it at $2,427.41, down 1% on the day and 2.15% over the week; KuCoin's daily snapshot had it at $2,442.28, up 0.85% as of 00:00 UTC) — essentially flat-to-choppy consolidation just above the closely watched $2,400 level, with US CPI running at 3.7% year-over-year keeping Fed-policy nerves in play. No fresher print has landed on the validator exit queue, DeFi TVL, or L2 gas fees since yesterday's post.
